Pupils and staff using the hydrotherapy pool at Elms Bank

The school was designated as a National Teaching School in 2014.

The school has had a significant new build for September 2015. This has given us an additional 12 classrooms, 1:1 rooms and offices in additional to a bistro and bespoke facilities for Elms Bank College. We have a specialist provision department for autistic spectrum disorder and pupils who have sensory processing disorder. This is based on the lower ground floor of the new building.

The school has a sensory garden, a hydrotherapy pool, a multi-use games area, a full sized football pitch and a sensory light room. In addition, the school has a Drama Studio and Gallery Shop to support the Arts status, which includes Drama, Music and Art & Design. We also have a fully equipped sports hall, with a climbing wall and trampolines.

Each department has its own private bathroom areas and all classrooms have access for wheelchair users. The school is securely fenced and accessed through the front entrance. The school has security doors at the front and back of the school.

The school has a large well-stocked sensory garden and a hydrotherapy pool.

The main hall is used for assemblies and school dinners.

Elms Bank is part of the Extended Schools Initiative through clubs, residential activities and weekend events.

Pupils can purchase one of our healthy school lunches from a wide and varied menu cooked on the premises.

The school offers for hire a range of sporting facilities in addition to facilities for holding meetings and community activities. For further information please contact the Lettings Department at Bury Council: 0161 253 5444.
