A science lesson at Elms Bank

Summer Plant Sale at Elms Bank School and Unsworth Community Hub

The students from Elms Bank College have been keeping their green fingers busy by planting seeds, watering seedlings and potting on cuttings to get everything ready for the plant sales. A wide variety of plants including bedding plants, herbs, houseplants, vegetables, sweet peas, nasturtiums, fushias, flowering geraniums and much, much more will be available!

All proceeds from the plant sale will go towards the creation of a beautiful and peaceful Garden of Reflection at Elms Bank School in the memory of Adam Foster.  Adam was a well-loved part of the teaching team at the school for over 15 years. He sadly lost his battle with cancer in 2020. The Garden of Reflection will be a place where pupils, staff and his family can remember Adam and other colleagues and pupils we have sadly lost over the years.

Fundraising towards the Garden of Reflection project has been going on for a few months.  Our Just Giving page has raised over £1000 towards to the total costs.

Unsworth Community Hub will also be running a bric-a-brac stall and takeaway hot and cold drinks and snacks will be available to purchase.

The plant sale has been supported by generous donations from Morrisons Whitefield, B&Q Bury, Tesco, Walnut Allotments, Incredible Edibles Prestwich and the staff of Elms Bank School, the volunteers from Unsworth Community Hub and many others.

Come along and pick up a bargain to get your garden ready for the summer!
